(Withdrawn) New and old waves of migrants: Romanian and Moroccan immigrants on the Spanish labour market

Cristina Bradatan, Texas Tech University
Dumitru Sandu, University of Bucharest

In this paper we will compare the labor force outcomes and integration of the two largest immigrant groups (Moroccans and Romanians) within the European country who had have the highest rate of immigration in the past years -Spain. These top immigrant communities are estimated to have about 720,000 members each, the latter being the fastest growing immigrant community. The two immigrant groups differ both in term of history of migration (with Moroccans being the first to come, Romanians the fastest growing), ethnicity/race and ability to learn the language (Romanian and Spanish are both Latin languages, which makes it easier for Romanians than Moroccans to learn Spanish).
